FAQ regarding the Wine Club

What is the Wine Club?

The wine club provides membership for clients who would like to order wine on a yearly basis. It provides various advantages to the client.

How often will I receive wine?

Wine Club Members will receive wine once a year, in August. Above that they can also order during the year as they please.

What wines will I receive?

You will receive wines based on the membership option you choose. Each membership option has a different set of wines.

Are there exclusive benefits?

Club members will receive the following:

• Priority invitation to City on a Hill events
• First access to occasional wines, large formats bottles and older vintage releases
• Free delivery within South Africa (12 bottles or more).
• A yearly update on vineyard, cellar and wine developments.
• Wine Club prices on all wines purchased

Is there a minimum commitment?

The minimum commitment is a yearly order of wine with the Wine Club option of your choice. "The Gates" membership option has 12 bottles of wine which is our smallest offering.

Can I pause or adjust my delivery?

Memberships run on a year basis and continues unless the member cancels the membership at least 10 days before the annual renewal date of 1 August. Any changes in delivery or payment details should also be communicated by the same date. The wines per membership option is not adjustable.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver anywhere in SA along the main cities to the address the member provides.

  • Wine club membership is valid for one year and automatically renews annually on 1 August. Members enjoy priority invitations to City on a Hill events, first access to occasional wines, large-format bottles and older vintage releases, preferential wine club pricing on all purchases, a yearly update on vineyard, cellar and wine developments, and free delivery within South Africa on orders of 12 bottles or more. Standard delivery takes 5–10 working days, and all orders are dispatched only once full payment has cleared.

    Invoices are issued annually on 1 August. New members may join after this date only if signing up for the first time and subject to wine availability. Members are responsible for providing accurate delivery details; any redelivery costs arising from incorrect information or absence at delivery will be charged to the member.


    Should you wish to cancel or amend your membership, written notice must be provided at least 10 days prior to the 1 August renewal date. Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. As quality is our priority, if a specific single-vineyard wine is not bottled in a particular vintage, a thoughtfully curated alternative will be supplied or a credit applied to your account. By joining the club, you confirm that you are 18 years or older and consent to receive communications via our POPIA-compliant database.
